8 million DTT receivers sold

Latest figures from GfK show that 8,069,889 DTT receivers were sold in Italy by the end of March 2008, reports advanced-television.com. Set Top Boxes made up 76% of the total and 24% were iDTV’s.
Broadcasters are also said to be looking in to the possibility of launching a free-to-air satellite service which would offer viewer’s access to all the same services currently available on the DTT platform.
