Euro 2008 to be broadcast in HD on the DTT platform

Public broadcaster RAI plans to transmit the Euro 2008 Football Championships on the DTT platform in HDTV making it available in the regions of Valle d’ Aosta, Sardinia and the cities of Milan, Rome and Turin.
The Championships take place from the 7th to 29th June in both Switzerland and Austria.
After Euro 2008, RAI plans to continue HD transmissions of other sports events followed by the start of regular HD broadcasts during 2009 in all digital areas.
