DTT penetration reaches 19%

According to data collected by Makno & Consulting, Digital Terrestrial Television is now received by 4.5 million Italian families, 19.5% of total TV households.
These figures which were made up to June also estimate the number of Sky Italia satellite TV households at 4.5 million and IPTV households at 400,000.
Further analysis indicates that 3.9 million households with DTT receivers use them occasionally, 1.1 million nearly all the time, 850,000 leave them switched on continuously and 400,000 of them are connected to a telephone line.
