DVB-T2/T tests in Kazakhstan
JSC Kazteleradio with the assistance of Harris Corporation, have conducted comparison tests using both DVB-T and DVB-T2 in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. Both the bit rate and field strengths were measured and proved that DVB-T2 was superior to DVB-T.
For the tests Harris supplied a 1,000 watt air cooled Maxiva transmitter on channel 49 driven by an M2X exciter.
“These tests underscore the Maxiva transmitter’s powerful ability to broadcast DVB-T2 and MPEG-4 for SD and HD content,” said Alain Pecot, vice president for transmitter sales in Europe and Africa. “The resulting data will be extremely helpful to the team planning JSC Kazteleradio’s transition to DTV.”
