Most DTT boxes in Portugal priced below €30


Portugal’s telecommunications regulator Anacom has published data which shows that 62.1% of DTT decoders on the market are priced at less than €30, while 32.7% cost between €30 and €50. In the third quarter of 2011, the average price of DTT boxes dropped 18% compared with Q2 to around €37. DTT decoder sales were up 2% in the period from the 30th June to the 30th September.
The analogue signal is due to be switched off on the 12th January 2011 in the coastal areas of Portugal followed by the autonomous regions on the 22nd March and the remaining territories on the 26th April.
