DTT receiver sales increase

More than 247,000 digital TV sets were sold in Portugal between January and November 2009 according to recent figures from research organisation Gfk.
The report from Rapid TV goes on to say that sales have been aided by a drop in the price of DTT equipment from Euro 1,490 at the start of 2009 to an average of Euro 640 by the end.
The free-to-air DTT platform was launched in April 2009 and offers viewers 4 television programme services. One free-to-air HD service is also expected launch later this year.
