DTT subsidies possible in Romania


Marius Fecioru, the state secretary in the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI) is reported, by Broadband TV News, to have said that the operators of Romania’s first two DTT multiplexes could receive up to €1 million for the purchase of Set Top Boxes (STB’s). The information is attributed to Financiarul.
The two DTT licences are expected to be awarded later this year and may be held by a single company. The multiplexes are expected to carry a total of 16 Free to Air channels.
