DTT services to launch by year end

The Telecommunications Office (TU SR) has confirmed that commercial DTT services, starting with one multiplex, will launch by the end of 2009 and must be available to 79.7% of the population.
Coverage is expected to increase to 89.4% of the population by the end of March 2010.
A second multiplex, which will also offer commercial services, will be launched by the 30th June 2010. In addition a Free to air multiplex will also be launched by the end of June.
Analogue switch-off is expected to be completed by 2012.
