ODM transmitting DVB-S2 MPEG-4 test transmissions

SA’s On Digital Media (ODM) has begun transmitting seven test channels from its Johannesburg HQ according to a report on the Rapid TV News website.
ODM has taken space for 55 channels initially on the SES-Astra owned Sirius satellite which covers the whole of Southern Africa from Nigeria in the West to Cape Town in South Africa.
NDS protected STB’s for the service are said to be in mass production by a local manufacturer.
ODM are expected to announce an official launch date for the service during the SatCom Africa trade show on April 12-15.
