Digital migration plan agreed

The Socialist government approved the frequency plan for the period between July 2012 and 31 December 2014 in its last cabinet meeting.
The plan puts in place the migration of DTT services using the 790-862 MHz band to frequencies below 790 MHz.
To help finance the migration of the DTT services, the government has set aside a budget of €800 million which will be raised from the auction of the 790-862 MHz frequencies which
have been allocated for the provision of mobile broadband services.
