Broadcasters to label HD content

The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce is preparing legislation that will oblige broadcasters to label their content, reports Rapid TV News. This is in order to help viewers clearly distinguish between high-definition and standard-definition television services.
Currently, several national (TVE, Antena 3, Telecinco, laSexta) and regional broadcasters (TV3, Aragón 2, Canal 9, 7RM, Telemadrid, Canal Sur, TPA, TV Canarias) provide HD services on the DTT platform. However, not all programmes are in high-definition.
Some content is standard-definition while other content is up-converted from standard-definition. The public service broadcaster TVE uses native HD content.
