TVE HD increases coverage
Radio Televisión Española RTVE, Spain’s national public broadcaster, has extended the coverage of its DTT HD transmissions to 28 million people, 63% of the population.
The signal is now receivable in forty provinces, among them Valencia, Alicante, Guipúzcoa, Tarragona, Santander, Cáceres, Badajoz or Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, apart from Ceuta and Melilla. These provinces have recently been added to those of Madrid, Barcelona, Zamora, A Coruña, Zaragoza and Valladolid which have been getting the HD signal progressively since the start of DTT HD in Madrid in May 2010.
By the beginning of 2011 coverage is expected to have increased to 90% of the Spanish population.
