DTT beats cable TV


Cable TV is being beaten by DTT for the first time in Spain according to reports attributed to consultancy firm Barlovento Comunicacion. DTT had 13.8% of the audience share in May against 13% for cable.
In Spain, more than 32 per cent of homes have DTT, 46% in Madrid and 41% in Canary Islands, which has the highest penetration.
Analogue FTA share has also fallen from 68.2 per cent the previous month to 67.4%.
Satellite TV only has a 5.6% share.
