8 million DTT receivers sold by 2007 close

By the end of 2007, a total of 8 million DTT receivers had been sold in Spain according to figures published by Impulsatdt. Many viewers are in apartment blocks with collective antenna systems and already 51.7% have been converted for DTT.
The sale of receivers with integrated DTT tuners totalled 62% of all devices sold, up from the figure for 2006 of 26%.
DTT viewers made up 10.5% of total television viewing in Spain and reached 5 million daily viewers, on average.
By the close of January 2008, Sofres estimates that DTT penetration reached 28% of households.
