DTT penetration reaches 19.4%
DTT is accessed by nearly one in five TV households in Spain (19.4%) according to the latest figures from Impulsa TDT.
Penetration varies significantly across the country with the highest being in Madrid (27.3%) followed by Catalonia (26.7%) and Canaries (23.9%) with the lowest being in the region of Aragon (11.3%).
It is estimated that 26.5 million TV sets still have to be converted from analogue to digital before the switchover in 2010.
During the first five months of this year more than 1.7 million digital TV tuners were sold which amounts to one third of the total tuner sales to date.
