Via removes license fees for FTA broadcasters

The DVB Project yesterday received a letter from Via Licensing indicating that the requirement for free-to-air broadcasters to pay patent license fees for MHP has been removed with immediate effect. The letter states that the decision has been taken in the interests of supporting the continuous deployment of MHP services around the world.

The Via Licensing website is to be updated to reflect this situation in the coming days.
